Images from the Show on 17th July 2010
The 54th Annual Curdridge Country Show 2010 was held on Saturday 17th July 2010 and it was a brilliant day.
We estimate that we had about 7,000 people on the Show Ground during the day, enjoying the huge variety of attractions on offer.
The Show is put on by the village and would not happen without the huge number of magnificent volunteers involved and many thanks go to everyone who helped.
In 2010 we celebrated the (very) long service of the two ladies who mastermind the Tea Tent. This was their 25 year anniversary and the dedication of Ann and Anne was marked by adopting a theme of "Silver" across the Show. They were also the surprise guests who opened the Show this year, well, it was a surprise to them!
The Romsey Old Cadets were the headline act in the arena and their Wild West routine had everyone clapping and joining in.
We try to blend tradition with innovation so the old favourites of the Curdridge School Children dancing, the Horticultural Show, crack-a-crock, the Craft Show, face painting etc. etc. etc. sat alongside some new activities like the bungee trampoline and climbing wall. The energetic ones amongst our visitors certainly had plenty of choice.
Those preferring something more sedate were not disappointed, a visit to the Pamper Zone could be followed by a trip to the photographer to capture that relaxed moment. The Tea Tent and Barbeque fed us well and was washed down with Real Ale, traditional cider or a nice cup of tea.
In the evening the Barn Dance used up those last ounces of energy with some lively music and good food. More Real Ale probably helped as well!
The Show is a fundraiser for our local charity, The Curdridge Reading Rooms, which are in much need or repair and we thank you for coming to help us in this way.
